“For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! “Psalm 91:11-13
How reassuring that God loves us so much He has commanded his angels to keep us safe!
Safe from physical harm
Safe from emotional harm.
Safe from spiritual harm.
Angels are mentioned throughout the Bible. While these heavenly beings carry out God’s orders and serve Him, we are not to worship them, or spend our time searching for them.
When we are in danger of any sort, we should pray to God. And God alone. How He handles our concerns, whether by angels intervening at His command, or some other miracle is completely up to Him.
Reflection:
Recall a time when your rescue was unforeseen, and unthought of by you. Have you thanked God for caring for you and keeping you safe in all you do for Him?
