Viewing headlines, newscasts and social media feeds can be traumatizing. Can we comprehend living life as the reports shout? We don’t always understand why people act and react as they do. We can’t always even comprehend ourselves. Our emotions often change like the wind.
But there is one sure thing in this uncertain world: God’s great love for us.
No matter what, He is there:
Watching.
Protecting.
Waiting for an invitation into our moments, our situations, our lives.
Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is not always tangible, fathomable, or comprehensible. Yet, we can completely trust God.
Why?
We can hold Him to His promises:
When we wonder how to deal with hard times, He will use everything for my good. (Romans 8:28)
When the future looks bleak, He plans to give me hope for the future (Jeremiah 29:11)
When we don’t know what to do, He will make my path clear before me. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I just need to call on Him, trust Him, and have faith.
Easier said than done.
In those moments when I need help finding faith, I need to ask God to supply it. And He will. (Philippians 4:19)
He is there, He sees, and He knows. He is in control.
How about you? What promises do you cling to as you navigate daily life? How do you find faith when there seems no reason to have hope?
Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father for reminding me through Your promises that You are indeed there. You love me. You see me. And, You know. You are always working and in control. Please help me to hold onto You in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
