Are you in the throes of struggle today? Were you in the same struggle yesterday? Last week? Last month?
Do you awaken with thoughts already racing of what needs done today? Rising and dashing off prayers for those burdens on the heart, that are oh-so-hard to surrender once-and-for-all to Jesus?
Live long enough and we surely find ourselves in such a season. And sometimes that season can stretch out seemingly endlessly as the restless weekends tick by and then as the calendar pages flip.
Theoretically you know God is there. He is the God who sees.
But as time drags on, and the weight tires our spiritual muscles and our souls sag just a bit, sometimes, it’s hard to hold faith tightly as our mouths whisper the same prayer yet again, God, please do something.
Well-meaning friends remind us everything happens for a reason, that God will use this to work out good for us, that His timing is perfect. Yep, every word is true, but hard to hear in the moment.
Especially as the heart anguishes and faith flounders and the energy to continue with things as there are has been depleted.
God, do… You…see… me?
Do You see what’s happening here?
Do you realize the length of this journey I’ve been on and how hard it’s been on me?
My child, I do. I promise you, you are so very dear to me.
I have never left you, nor forsaken you. I am here, right beside you.
I have seen those tears, in fact, I’ve safely collected those precious drops in a bottle.
Stay faithful my child, I will sustain you, one day at a time. Moment by moment, I will supply your needs.
I never rest. I am working things out. “I am always at My work, to this very day. And My Son is working too., see John 5:17.
It’s a hard place, waiting and working and wanting hope. Desperate for a change for the better. The season has already lasted too long, but it will not go on forever. God will supply your needs.
Sometimes that supplying has skin on it. A good friend to extend a helping hand, literally. On a dear sister in faith who knows how to keep a confidence and has really good listening ears, and when she speaks, it’s words of encouragement. Or, a faithful prayer warrior who is on the floor with you and for you, interceding on your behalf.
Please know this: you are not alone. God is there. There are people you can trust who also want to be there. Prayerfully consider who you can let in, and accept God’s help however He provides.
Prayer: Dear God, You see the plights. You hear the cries. And You know the hearts. God, I know You are here, working, but it’s hard to see that sometimes. Please show me how to reach out today, and who to contact, who I can trust. Lord, Thank You that I am always in the palm of Your hand. In Jesus’ name, amen.
As always, feel free to comment below for a general prayer request or email me for a specific prayer concern. Please know I pray a blanket prayer for all who read these words. Love in Christ, Stefanie
